Tip topic today / see below: Refunds on eBay.
Alert: I think I forgot to mark down the dress I talked about on page 1. So it is currently marked down from now till 11.18.18. $13. 99 plus shipping is a great price for this cocktail or prom dress. Size 6, silk and polyester, pre-owned, great condition. Strapless, fully lined. Link is below. eBay id # 302936073446 till 11.24.18 (ending date for listing).
My eBay Notebook tip for today: Refunds on eBay.
Even if I choose NOT to accept refunds; eBay honors them. It's all about the buyer's experience. I do offer refunds, but the buyer pays return shipping.
Refunds are not given until the item is received back to the seller. It must be in the same condition as received.
The original shipping when buying the item is NOT refunded. (If you drive to a brick and mortar store and buy an item, and then drive back to return it, you do not get gas paid for either way. It's your expense.)
The original shipping is how you got the paid item you ordered. Once it ships, it is used (a one-time purchase to get it to you.) It is NOT refundable.
Some people have a hard time understanding this although it is quite easy to understand.
As a seller, I also pay fees on the item price AND THE SHIPPING for eBay as well as PayPal. This adds up!
Shipping is the hardest part of learning eBay, but eventually you understand it. An easy tip is: If it weighs less than a pound: send it 1st class. Actually, 13 oz. or less. If it weighs over a pound, send it Priority Mail.
I also like Flat Rate envelopes and boxes because: IF IT FITS, IT SHIPS! This can often be cheaper. It is the same price wherever it ships within the U.S.
Flat Rate items and priority USPS supplies are free from the post office or to order online.
